Rajesh Ranjan, popularly known as Pappu Yadav, has made waves by winning the Purnia Lok Sabha seat in Bihar as an independent candidate with a margin of over 23,000 votes.

During his oath-taking ceremony on June 25, he wore a T-shirt with the slogan “RE-NEET,” signaling his protest against the irregularities in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) and other examination issues.

emerged victorious, emphasizing his resilience and strong connection with the electorate.

This bold move by Yadav, who merged his Jan Adhikar Party with Congress but ran independently after a setback with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has resonated with students and gone viral on social media.
When confronted by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, Yadav retorted,
“I am a six-time MP. You’ll teach me? You have won on the mercy (of others). I fight alone.”
In these elections, despite merging his party with Congress, Yadav faced a challenge when the RJD fielded another candidate from Purnia. Undeterred, he contested as an independent and
emerged victorious, reinforcing his image as a determined and independent leader.
